Damien Locke knows his destiny--attending the university for supervillains and becoming Golden City's next professional evil genius. But when Damien discovers he's the product of his supervillain mother's one-night stand with--of all people--a superhero, his best-laid plans are ruined as he's forced to live with his superhero family.
Going to extreme lengths (and heights), The Rise of Renegade X chronicles one boy's struggles with the villainous and heroic pitfalls of growing up.
I've been considering for a while how to even begin to put this into words. I'm pretty sure you wont have read anything like this before. Not only is the premise completely fresh and fascinating, but the writing is so amazing in such a different yet fabulous way. I adored the dialog! Let me repeat this, just in case it is not clear enough: the dialog was absolutely amazing. I fell in love with Damien and his attitude and the unique way he has. He is way to clever and awesome to be real. And I'm not saying he's not believable, quite the opposite. You know when you meet a guy and he is just so incredibly awesome and so fun to hang out with that the first thing you think is "He's just too awesome to be real"? Well, that's Damien.
Rethink your view of good and evil in this modern-day delightful and unusual novel. Amazing characters, superpowers, super heroes, super villains... what more can you ask for? The plot was great, even though I think it got somewhat slow around the middle, it unfolded in a great way. I need a second book now!! And I also love the cover. I admit at first I was kind of wary of it, now I love it!

Damien really was unqiuely awesome, wasn't he? *sighs* Wonderful review, Sab!
Nothing I love better than a new idea that makes you say "Now, why didn't I think of that?" Okay, another one for the pile. Awesome review by the way.
Aw man! I still have to read this and it looks awesome. Although I wasn't very into the cover when I first saw it, I ought to give this a try! :D Thanks for your review! It made me actually put it on my wishlist, hehe.
