Darklight - Lesley Livingston

Young Adult
Pages: 320
Publisher: HarperTeen
Release Date: December 22, 2009

Much has changed since autumn, when Kelley Winslow learned she was Faerie royalty, fell in love with changeling guard Sonny Flannery, and saved New York City from a rampaging Faerie war band. When a terrifying encounter in Central Park sends Kelley tumbling into the Otherworld, her reunion with Sonny is joyful—but cut short. For they’ve been plunged into a game of Faerie deception and wavering allegiances in which the next move could topple a kingdom...or part them forever.

I loved Wondrous Strange! I wish I had loved Darklight as much but I felt something was missing, or maybe it was just too predictable for me. I think Sonny may have lost some of his charm and became just the stupid guy in love. The end left me hungry for more though. I can't wait for the next book!

I somehow became more interested in Kelley's relationship with Sonny's friend than with him and things start getting really messy but nothing really gets resolved. I think that being the "middle" book this is expected to happen. Anyway, I did enjoy it a lot, I still love the series but I do hope the next book (is it the last one?) is more of my cup of tea. Regardless, if you like the first book you have to check this one out and if you enjoy fairy series (Melissa Marr, Holly Black) you'll love this series!

Oh... that's a little disappointing. I enjoyed the first book. Second books often have problems, though. I hope the series picks up again.

I just finished reading it and completely loved it, but I get what you're saying. There was something - I can't place my finger on it - that was missing. And Fenn...yea...Sonny who??
