Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker–his classmate and crush–who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list.
Aww, this book was so sad! Unbelievably amazing, but so sad. It's a story about a girl -Hannah- who tapes herself stating the reasons why she has (already) committed suicide. I kept expecting her somehow to be alive at the end- even though you know she's dead from the very first pages. It was a book so full of emotions, I really "felt" it all the way. The author managed to leave me scarred with images of everything in my head, which is actually really good.
The plot was interesting and fast. The characters were amazing and overall the premise the book brings is really creative and original. I listened to it on audio-book (also read some parts) and really enjoyed that there were two readers, a female one as Hannah and a male one as Clay. It's a terrific book everyone should check out!

I think i want to read this one, before your review I was not so sure - I have suffered with depression most of my life, so I was kinda scared to read it - but you review makes it sound like a great book!

This sounds like I book I need to read while AT HOME. I am sure I will cry my eyes out. Like Book Crazy Jenn, I've also previously suffered from depression, and I've been afraid this one will remind me too much of old times, but I really might be giving in. It sounds so great.
This is one of my favorites books, bizarrely enough. It touches on some very real issues.
This book has been on my TBR list for a long time. Based on your review I'd say it's time to give it a read! Maybe I'll grab it at the library today. :)
Its a really great book! I dont think you guys will get too depressed, I actually did not cry but felt sad all the way. But its worth it!
It was such an amazing book, and it talked about suicide in such a meaningful way. Makes you think, but not depressing. It's somewhat uplifting, actually.
I read this one a long while ago and I really loved it. The mystery was intense and it almost made me cry. My friend did, actually!
