Ever since she started going out with Rogerson Biscoe, Caitlin seems to have fallen into a semiconscious dreamland where nothing is quite real. Rogerson is different from anyone Caitlin has ever known. He's magnetic. He's compelling. He's dangerous. Being with him makes Caitlin forget about everything else-her missing sister, her withdrawn mother, her lackluster life. But what happens when being with Rogerson becomes a larger problem than being without him?
This is really different from other books I've read by Dessen. I wasn't expecting it to be so dark. She uses her wonderful talent to a different kind of story and makes it marvelous. You can feel everything falling apart while you're reading. Sadly, it's the story of many women out there. A story told after it's to late. I felt frustrated and helpless reading this, knowing Caitlin's story could be anyone's. It's a book about teen issues.
The plot was steady, it keeps you hooked because you feel the inevitable coming. The characters, as always Dessen's, are incredibly real. Every single one of them. The Hardcover, I don't like at all, but the paperback is really beautiful. Could have a better cover though. If you like reading realistic dark stories, or if you've liked other books by Dessen, you should give this one a try.

This has been the only Sarah Dessen book I've read thus far. It is definitely one of those books that makes you want to jump in and prevent from all of that stuff from happening. I agree: good, realistic and dark.
I love this book. It's a story that definitely needed to be told.
Never read this one...although it is one of the few Sarah Dessen novels I gathered for an upcoming reading challenge. I agree about the cover....the paperback is much better, but it does not give me the "dark inside" vibe. I suppose that is both good and bad in a way. Still looking forward to reading this one...thanks for the insight!
I'm glad you liked it! This is one of my favorite Dessen novel. I wish she would touch base on more darker subjects too.
I'm more of a fan of the hardback though. I like the whole scattered photography look and thought it went well with Caitlin.
Going to give it a try! :)
I think it's a song that they made for the people on the show and hasn't really been released other places besides the show, maybe it'll come out after the season finale.
